mula nung dumating ako sa vietnam ito pa lang una ko nakitang pinoy kainan dito. sa celphon shots lang to. sabik sa pagkain kaya di na naayos ang pics.

Para sa mga mahilig sa motor.

Just want to share these few things I came across with.

I have been noticing since April this year, billboards are spreading around Saigon and it always caught my attention. Looks like a major change of strategy in battling the ever growing counts of fatal motorcycle accidents in Vietnam. I really think “Wear-A-Helmet” educational approach of information campaign best fits in Vietnam rather than implementing the “wear-a-helmet” law.

It is a campaign spearheaded by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation -a US non-profit organization whose goal is to reduce injuries from road crashes, particularly involving children.

I always look at it, read or stare closely at the billboards and it gets me to thinking whether this strategy will work in Vietnam. Still, I think these works are great. I think these people are really good.

Sana maintindihan na ng mga vietnamese to.

My friends here in Saigon, Vietnam, Nathan from UK and Sean from Hawaii owns a company of vintage vespas and lambrettas restorations. They also manufacture accessories and parts of vintage cars as well. As part of their new lines are making “micro cars”, vintage series. These are cute mini classic cars that is not really a new thing in this world BUT in someways its a really fun hobby turning into one of their product lines.

From Mercedes Benz 300SLs to Bugattis and from Jaguar E-types to Porsche 356s, as well as Willys Jeep inspired by the remnants of military jeeps used by US forces during the Vietnam war.

Toys for the big boys? Well I guess for boys in all ages, it’s gonna be quite an experience. Even girls or ladies will surely have fun driving these things.

The initial runs are open for public whereas technical modifications and user feedbacks will be
critical for the on progress development of the products.

We had the chance of being invited in the first runs on track of these micro cars last Feb 3, ‘07. Though it will not be use as racing cars like gocarts, they had conducted this initial runs on the tracks of vespa scoots racing circuit for safety purposes. Lotsa foods and booze around and its free! We had helluva fun weekend.

You might wanna know, all these micro cars are powered by imported motorcyle engines in 110cc to 150cc displacements from China and has 3 to 4 gears with reverse gear. Equipped with head lights and rear lights as well as horns.

Here is their site: http://www.groupharrington.com/junior_files/

Enjoy the pics. Cheers!
